Our UMBAA Concert Band holds ~10 rehearsals culminating in a concert each session. It is easier to plan if we have a good head count and know what part you would like to play sooner rather than later. Please pass the word onto your alumni friends that may not be on our e-mail list. The participation fee will be collected when you register online at the link above. To cover the expenses of the Concert Band there is a participation fee of $30 per session. The band room will be opened by 7p to give members time to warm up. Our concert band will start rehearsals weekly on Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30pm at Skyline High School, 2552 N.

Vecchio started his career teaching elementary general music (K-5), beginning band and beginning choir in Chester, New York. He previously attended the University of Michigan where he earned masters degrees in Music Education and Euphonium Performance. He recently taught elementary and middle school band in Northbrook and Skokie, Illinois. Mike Vecchio is a current doctoral student in the PhD Music Education program at the University of Michigan. Fleming attended Northwestern University where she received her master’s in Wind Conducting and she earned her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Ithaca College. Fleming as an Outstanding Activity Advisor. In 2019, the Illinois Directors of Student Activities recognized Ms. Fleming has guest conducted community bands, presented at statewide music education conferences, and frequently adjudicates at Concert Band and Solo & Ensemble festivals.
Fleming was a middle school and high school band director in New Jersey. Her responsibilities included directing the four curricular concert bands, directing the musical pit orchestra and co-directing the basketball pep band and “Bulldog” Marching Band. Fleming was the band director at Wauconda High School in Wauconda, Illinois. Kim Fleming is currently pursuing a DMA in Conducting at the University of Michigan.
